Here is my new theme. I told you it was going to be different. It’s a step away from the blue anyways. It’s still got somethings I have to fix

-searchbar

-images (in IE)

-alignment (in IE)

-upload new footer

So its basically done, but I’m going to include somemore features to it as time goes on. Mainly its just stupid IE stuff I have to fix. If you aren’t already, download use a standards compliant browser like FireFox. I love to here your comments on the theme.

It’s back to worring about the content of this site again. I seem to have a bit of a unbalanced site. I work really hard on content for months, and then I work on the design. Well, its time again to work extra hard on getting good content on here again, and slowly making it a 50/50 even amount of work on content and the site design. I really need to layoff the changing my template, I just never seem to satisfied with the design.
I got a couple of “How To” posts coming out. I’m also looking into having a Eric-Taylor.com birthday. It’s coming up on May 7th. It will be good trust me. *Cough* Maybe release of K2 Reloaded V2, and Tarski Reloaded V1?! You’ll just have to come and see.

Busy Busy Busy

Things have been pretty crazy in my life. I have been so busy lately, with work, school, friends, and I keep getting people asking me to do site-redesigns. I haven’t posted for awhile, so I thought now would be a good time to let you in on a couple of things.

I have finally got bored enough with my site that I am going to be changing the template soon, I hope you guys will like it, I know I like it. I have given a clue in the site right now, giving you a hint of what the next template will consist of. You will have to find the clue on your own, but I’ll give you some help. Delete your cookies, cache, and history in your browser, and reload the page. You may not notice the clue, but that makes it fun.

I’m still looking for someone to take over development of K2 Reloaded. I plan on working side-by-side with the new guy, so that we can get everything working, I just need someone to actually work on it. So if you interested, and I have recieved many emails asking me about it but nobody seems to get back to me, drop a line and let me know.

Tarski Reloaded is almost ready too, but again, I need someone to finish it.

I have one last thing to make you aware of. I am currently making a theme for people to download and use, that will be completely made from scratch. It will not be a “reloaded” theme.

We have suffered some losses lately and I have lost two team members with Shosholoza Technologies. I am now looking for anyone who is willing to commit some time, and talents, for free to join the team.

What we are looking for:
-Graphic Designers
-Coders
-Advertisers

Skills and Experience needed:
-We are looking for people that are serious about there work, and really know there skills. You should have plenty of background on your skill.
-Should have experience working with teams
-Needs to have plenty of experience with wordpress.
-Should have some background in the other jobs, even if its not the one you do. Meaning, if you are a coder, you should still now some graphic design.

What the team does:
We get together and help each other with projects. We are always making new templates, and improving others work.

A taste on what is going on.

I am sure you all wonder why theme always seems to be changing, why the offical release of K2 Reloaded isn’t out yet, and/or why my modified version of the audio plugin isn’t complete yet. Well here is a little inside look at things.

I keep changing my theme because I am never satisfied with one. It is like houses to me. A person believes that it is possible to build the perfect home, I on the other hand do not believe that to be true. As you learn and develop you always find new and creative ways to do things. I guess that is why my theme keeps changing. Just to let you know though, the current theme will not be changed for some time. I want to fix the bugs and be done with it for a while, and to give me more time to spend on other projects.

Here is a project that you may know about. K2 Reloaded! It is my modified version of the K2 theme. I have just done some simple changes to it to make it more unique and bring it in to 2006 terms. You can check out what is happening with K2 Reloaded at:

The other project I haven’t talked much on lattely is my modified version of the Audio Player Plugin. I am still in the prebeta stages on this project. What will the modifications be? Well, I plan on making it able to have playlists on hand, which you can make right in the control panel of wordpress, and I also want to include a smart mp3 search engine that will find free music for people to listen too.

So there is a little of what I am doing just to inform you. I may not be replying to comments as much as I should, but that is because of how busy I am. Thanks for your good reports and awsome comments.

New Theme- echoTrance v1.0

This is a new theme I have created based on the theme K2. I have gone through and done alot of changing and customizing and I plan on putting out a download of a theme I will call “K2 Reloaded” It will be the default K2 theme but modified. It will feature:

Easy header image uploader
Sidebarless design.
Main Menu tweaks.
Livesearch bar in the header.
ALERT icon within the class.
A crap load of cool icons.
Easily customizable width. Default 640px
Easily spotted Author’s comments
Social Bookmark
Flickritis

Seeing as how I am so tired of

“server fixs” -admin @ torelliwh.com

I will be changing hosting at the end of the month. The fact that in order to get good hosting you have to go with a major company has finally hit me, and it punched me square in my face. I guess all these little companies that think they can come in to cock fight as a chicken and win, are completely wrong. I have had the worse problems with hosts. First it was the all time worst xero-tech.net, and now torreliwh.com. I do have to say that torreliwh.com did give better support then xero-tech.net, but with all there “server fixs” and “updating security” days, I’m so fed up that I’m paying for downtime. Who pays for downtime?! Not me!

So if anyone is hosted by bluehost.com, or knows someone that is, please get in contact with me, and let me know what you think of them. The should be pretty good. I have looked up reviews and they are the fastest growing company out there right now, and got a award for best tech support. The real seller to me is wordpress.org has them on there “hosting” page. Anyways… if you have been wondering why the site has been down lately, that is why.

Eric’s Blog now has MSN Alerts. If you sign up, you will be notified when the blog has been updated with a new post. It works the same as the contact cards. You see the update come up like someone is logging on, and if you click on it will bring you straight to the site.

Zypher- The Podcast.

Seeing as how Zypher, the video how-to-show, is not working out, we are changing some things.

First, Zypher is now going to be a podcast.

This should allow us to get episodes out fast, and easy.

Q-What will Zypher be about now?

A-Zypher will still be a tech show. We are going to be taking emails, of questions that you might have and need answered. We are going to touch up on other podcasts such as TWiT, and Diggnation. We will try to get the most recent and exciting tech news out to you.

Q- When will Episode I be out.

A- Just as soon as we get are RSS feeds up and running, and finish the edit. It should be long…no longer then 2 weeks, and yes, the news on the podcast will be up to date.

Why was Eric-Taylor.com Down?

Okay well the all crappy host xero-tech.net didn’t even mind emailing me or telling me in the forums that I had to re-request free hosting. Ever since xero (old owner) sold xero-tech to the new owner, it has sucked. I have had massive down times.

I have called an all out war on xero-tech for deleting all of my files, and banning me in there forums because I wanted my files.

I have moved to a new host that is giving me better service, I do have to pay now, but its all good it’s only $4 a month The host I have now is called Torelliwh.com, and they are great!!! Excellent service.

I have lost all the comments people have made on posts. I had to redo all of my posts. Lucky I had a screenshot of my webpage before it was deleted so I could remember my posts. Umm…lets see here…oh, please leave comments again. I can promise you that eric-taylor.com will not be down for a long long time.
