hi,
this windows genuine software stuff got installed with other updates in my computer.
now it shows me a bubble which says “you may be a victim of software counterfeiting”
i am not able to use windows media player.
please can you suggest how do i get rid of this problem.

hey there! uhm, if i successfully bypassed wga, will my copy become genuine? or when i will test it with wga again, will it yield a genuine result?

Like I have stated before above. This guide most likely will not work for anyone anymore. WGA has changed since this post is written and I have not experimented with the newest version of WGA to update the post.

Make ur windows xp genuine and download all updates from microsoft website…..!

Bypass windows genuine validation!

Try this one..i tried it now my windows xp is genuine..i hope u will get it..you can make ur window genuine and by pass genuine validation..just visit it and do stepss..

I am getting the little blue star in the quick menu. I assume that due to the fact that there are no posts after 18th of september and a lul in July and August that this problem is still existing.

I have tried all measures sugested and as far as I can tell they ahve combated all the bypasses sugested here.

I simply want to get rid of the stupid launch bar and start up screen. I am not bothered about the updates and downloads at this present time as I use linux for everything else. I just need this for games, plus I don’t like the feeling of microsoft winning.

the problem is NOT with getting the updates there already a patch for that…the problem is get the DOWNLOADS ie windows defender beta or directx9.0c etc

i think the solution may be a patch or some shyt that LIES to MS so they dont even care if ur CD key is valid

i say again we need to be able to get the DOWNLOADS not the updates…..gettin the updates is easy…gettin the DOWNLOADS (other than updates) is what cant be done it seems

I downloaded Windows Media Player 11, It downloads the 23 MB setup file to your computer, and once you run setup, it opens your browser midway to tell you that your copy of windows is not genuine. This problem can’t be solved using this method. How do I do it?

call me stupid if you want but my thoery is when making a copy of windows xp a certain file is well hiddin therefore this issue is comming up…so my guess is that there is a file that people got from the actual cd itself and that file is saved and well hiddin in the pc….so if there is a way to lacate that file it can be sent in aim or something as a file…then you copy that file into the location it needs to be in….i dunno if this made any logical scense but its just a thought of mine please respond

This little tool works for me now, the regedits used to work but no longer, I have to suspect MS spies read this site just to see what their users are up to so they can keep throwing roadblocks at us.

One more thing, under local machine, there is no ext or clsid under policies. just to let you konw, i loaded a sp1 copy of windows in , i went to update, and it only allowed the first update whick had the validation tool in it, after that it wouldn’t work with the java scrpt hack at all. so then i tried to install sp2 using the link givin here, and then tired thrace method.

ok i loaded sp2, i used archeon of thrace method using the current user instead of local machine. i created the ext putin the info, and made the value 0, then i added clsid under ext, and put in its info, but no value, as you didn’t write anythinga bout that. Then i went to update, it went to the screen to check the system, not to reinstall the tool. so i tried clicking back and changed the ext value to 1, and went custom again, and it wantedd to validate again, so it didn’t work. so if you guys could help me out please taht would be huge thanks

What’s up with the new website design?
I am having difficulty navigating here, text is being cut off on the left side of the screen and the little clock icons are obscuring the date of posts.

Anyway getting to the important stuff, the bad news, the registry editing trick no longer works for me.

The good news, “Mublinder” works great!
MS seems to be getting more diligent, hopefully this won’t lead to me dusting off my store bought copy of Windows XP.
I hate the concept of activation and buying more than one copy of the same program for every PC isn’t going to happen either, LOL, I’ll revert back to Windows 98 or ME before that will happen.
See what greed does for you MS, you were selling a copy of windows to every household now you sell none!
Take the hint and drop Activation!

Well, this is very curious :

1) I set KET to 0
2) I go to Windows Update
3) I click Express
4) Win update tell me that I must install validation tool
5) I set the key to 1
6) I press back
7) I select express
Windows update tell me that it want authentify my computer…

Still works Great!! You naysayers are making boo boos.
ex: IVO-Ran the validation tool-We don’t run the tool, just bypass it.
ex:archeon of thrace – Doing way too much work, all you have to do is toggle 0/1 value.
ex:Some not finding the key in question, installing the validation tool creates this key, so do that first then look for the key.
ex:graf- Not a clue! It does still work great so try again you must have missed some of the procedure.

Blabla methode does work.

start – run – (type in the box) regedit – return

navigate to: HKey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\Current version\policies\ext\CLSID\

if ext and CLSID dont’t exist create them:
right click on “policies” and select “new” “key”. Name this new key “Ext”.

right click on “Ext” and select “new” “string value” – copy and past this: {17492023-C23A-453E-A040-C7C580BBF700}into where it says “new value #1″ (you may have to right click on it and select “rename”.

Double click on the string value you just created – {17492023-C23A-453E-A040-C7C580BBF700} – and make sure where it says “value data” the value is “0″ – thats zero, not oh.

Now windows update should work. You should before you do this, go to windows update, and let it fail. That way you know that you have the newest wga installed.

Nope, I did a reformat, and I forgot to save my bookmarks, so your site was lost. A google search turned up that little gem. So, it was a completely clean install.

I can’t get anymore updates for some reason. It tells me that the download for Windows genuine valdiation tool failed. Tells me that i have already downloaded it and for me to check my download history.Well i have already downloaded it. My copy of windows xp pro media center edition is Genuine. It came with my machine a little over a year now. I have spent hours on the phone with microsoft and they can’t figure out why itt will not let me update anymore. What a pain!!!
